It was Canon in the Electric tale of Pikachu manga that I hear was axed stateside for Jessie getting knocked up (among other things, so legend has it that was the last straw). It was drawn by an esteemed porn artist, so the American version is infamously heavily censored.

(that said, I can’t exactly hold this particular edit against them since A) The character is 12 and B) she’s suiting up to swim in a pool full of glacial water)
