My David’s Tea stuff came in! I haven’t had a chance to make any yet, but I’ve shuffled them all into their cannisters. INITIAL IMPRESSIONS:
Wow Rootbeer float smells OVERWHELMINGLY like Rootbeer. I don’t know how they did it with black tea, vanilla, cinnamon, white chocolate, and Safflower, but OH MAN great success. Is Safflower related to sassafrass? I think I will use it for iced lattes
Birthday Cake smells like waffles! How do you even make that happen. It’s seriously like fresh waffles right out of the… Waffle press? I don’t know what you call it (I like the term “waffling iron”, myself). Also it is extremely fine, it’s halfway to being sawdust. Also there is a stick in it. I do not know why.
Cinnamon Rooibos Chai smells more cinnamonny than cinnamon. It’s like fireball whiskey and cinnamon candy hearts entered into a long, happy, committed relationship with each other. It must be lightweight because I got a hundred grams and it filled the cannister right up to the top (denser teas only seem to fill them halfway)
Oh Canada doesn’t actually smell as overwhelmingly Mapley as I was expecting. Maybe I dreamed too big and set myself up for a fall. It actually smells kind of like nestea, or iced tea powder (is powdered iced tea a thing in the States? I honestly don’t know), it’s also a very light, fine blend (maybe that’s just a quality of rooibos, I’ve never actually had rooibos tea before)
Toasted marshmallow also doesn’t smell like I was expecting just in that it’s very Christmassy. Almost a little like a brandy smell? Or like fruitcake? It might be the hazlenuts. But OH MAN it has so many tiny marshmallows in it. I had to take a photo, it’s like 50% tiny marshmallows. I will probably also use this one for lattes when it starts to cool down and the inside of my apartment gets to be like five degrees because Los Angeles doesn’t have indoor heating.
