I draw the webcomic Manly Guys Doing Manly Things and work on cartoons you might see on TV sometimes.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Blue is nervous and fidgity and feels vulnerable sleeping in open spaces and when he was a sad little waif Daggett never had the heart to tell him it’s kind of a weird thing to curl up in a little ball pressed up against your friends while you snooze.
I found a doodle of Blue making some “you’re being extremely rude but I’m not going to confront you about it and hope you come to realize the error of your ways” face while I was poking around my Manga studio files and for some reason it just seems really funny to me right now.
I felt like doodling middle aged Blue at a point where he no longer gives any fucks yesterday because I was surfing around for references of stuff and seeing a lot of people complaining about how body art “ruins” the bodies it is arted upon and the whole “no bumper stickers on a Ferrari” bullshit and the usual garbage anyone with tattoos is used to hearing. Entitlement to the point where the first google search result you get for someone like Alex Freaking Minsky has people saying things like “A weak attempt at conveying ‘toughness’ and ‘strength’ which clearly doesn’t exist.” and complaining that he’s painful to look at as though you know, what they find attractive should have any bearing on what other people choose to do with their bodies.
Then ruined bodies sort of ended up being the subject of the day all over the place so hey, topical. Kind of.
I’m not going to do the rest of this but here’s little Blue with his jaw wired shut.
Blue would only ever use the internet to get in super polite anonymous arguments with people on draught horse forums.
Drawing sequential art to take a break from my job drawing sequential art.
A bison elephant sheep and Blue and Tigris discussing Bambi.

Coming someday maybe to an internet near you if I ever have time
People have asked me how accents in Blue and Dagg comic work and best I figure people are coming from everywhere so it varies region to region, or how much time you spend with family versus friends. Like Daggett spent his formative years in a little Slavic settlement founded by a melting pot of Eastern Europeans trying to escape various wars and dictatorships, Blue’s town has a high concentration of folks from the UK who followed his grandparents when they set up shop there. Tigris’ best friend is American, he was raised on a lot of the stuff Hollywood puts out, and he spent nearly a decade living in the States.
Anyway I was reading up on the difference between Burmingham and the Black Country dialects, which supposedly sound very similar to people from outside the area but completely different to people who actually speak with the respective accents and ran into someone stating “People from the black country sound different to one another and if someone from Birmingham comes along they sound utterly different to us.”
So as far as I can tell no one in the Black Country understands any other person from the Black Country.
This story is so much less these two dudes being sappy than the out of context standalone shit I post would have people believe.
I don’t even really consider Blue “the Main Character” I think he just gets doodled the most because I feel the most sorry for him, and every time I write something really terrible happening to him I just think “Oh no you deserve a hug now”.
