I draw the webcomic Manly Guys Doing Manly Things and work on cartoons you might see on TV sometimes.
The Indigo Serpent League is divided into different tiers, and if you rank first in your tier during tournament season, you move to the next tier. When young fighters rank high enough to start competing in tournaments, it’s tradition for them to get a unique serpent tattoo (they’re all on record, like heraldic insignias), then when two fighters are in a final ranking fight with the potential to advance one of them to the next tier, the winner will get the other’s serpent tattooed on themselves. So the blue one with red horns and dorsal fins on his shoulder is his personal serpent and the others are all ones he won.
There’s also a huge faux pas where humans from outside of the island who don’t understand the significance of the tattoos and get reproductions of them done in their home countries because they think it’s cool, but if they visit the island they’re gonna get their asses beat in the streets because they’re basically making a bold faced claim that they could beat the person that serpent belongs to in a tournament. (especially if it’s a retired or popular fighter, you could get straight up eaten alive if you have their stolen tattoo in the wrong company)
"Don’t you want teenage girls putting pictures of you up in their lockers?"
Cool imaginary people facts September 5th is Blue’s birthday.
Blue listens exclusively to classic Britrock and everyone who finds that out teases him about it.
